Going to the Coast

Last Thursday evening, the 22nd, I went outside and...

Mum was like, 'Dude, we're, like, going to the Sunshine Coast, like, tomorrow.'

And I was like, 'Dude, you're, like, crazy.'

And she was like, 'No I'm not. Go pack. We get up at, like, five.'

And I was like, 'Are you, like, serious? Dude!'

Or something like that anyway. It probably, when I think about it, wasn't that 'likeish', or 'dudish', but same result...

In the next few hours I had to pack a weeks amount of clothes, fill up (or let my darling Kaity fill up...) my BRAND NEW, BLACK, IPOD NANO, 8 MG, COMPLETE WITH HARD, CLEAR COVER CASE!!!, write my week's book review, and rush around finding some books, my purse, my drink bottle, my headphones to go with my BRAND NEW, BLACK, IPOD NANO, 8 MG, COMPLETE WITH HARD, CLEAR COVER CASE!!!, and a few other things that I was likely to forget but remembered.

We started early that morning and got there quite late.

A few things we did in the week are:

  • Go to my Uncle's 40th birthday party (And see some people that I had not seen in a VERY long time).
  • Watch Lord of the Rings 1, again. (Frodo has amazing blue eyes...!!)
  • Went to the beach (Where I got dumped continuously, AND met a Russian Snow-boarder (called Oondrey?) ...which was...to say in least...very interesting...).
  • On the subject of Oondrey?, he told us that the two things he had found out about Australians was...every second word is a swear word, and all we want to do is Barbeque...(I didn't know whether to be offended or laugh. I chose the latter, but it left me wondering if this is how all Russians think of us...).
  • Went to my cousin's house (Where we went on Youtube, as well as a variety of other things, and found something called Petunia's Makeover...very strange...).
  • Went Op shopping (And found a deal of 'Fill a bag for $5!...Good, eh?).

So, I am:

Tired, Content, Sunburnt, and Hungry...so I am going to have breakfast...

Five Important Words

(Or four if you care to ponder on the fact that '3' is a number, not a word...)

Robin Hood; Series 3; TV; Saturday;

Point made?

I'm so excited...!!

B-O-U-R-K-E Retelling

So, here I am, back from my week in Bourke. As ever it was great. My Mum's right when she says that Bourke has a continuous, magnetic pull to it.
So I will now bore you to death with some photos from the weekend...Keep in mind though that it's 8:13 PM and I only had 3 hours of sleep last night (my excuse for the very uninteresting blog title) so I will most likely make speling mistakes or not end my sentences with a period
Okay, so, photos...(I'm not going to completely match the text with the pics)
The first day we drove around a bit...
Went to the Darling Farms Sports Centre for a swim and tan...
And took some photos that show the real, natural beauty of Bourke.

I had brought Robin Hood Series 1 along with us so while we were there we watched all the episodes. So fantastic and sad and wonderful and I could not help but tear up...the wuss problem again...
We had a fire with some friendlies...
And played jailbreak...
....Which resulted in several broken sprinkles, a bleeding toe, a quite a few bush scratches...

There was music...

...And swimming/tanning...

...Which resulted in a very interesting bracelet tan...

I, for the first time ever ,faced my fears of the clutch and rode a manual motorbike twice...got up to third gear on the jumps baby! V. proud of me!

We got some pretty good Toyota shots...

And mostly spent time with good friends...

Ummm...yep...that's it...and, to finish off, we were not harmed by the Gidgee Man, the ghost that haunts Pera Bore, or that creepy thing in the bushes...
And I got up to third gear, baby!

1st Week of Holidays

Monday:

Hm mm, let's see...what did I do on Monday. I think Monday was the day that I recovered completely from Easter Camp, wrote a blog about it, read some Lord of the Rings , and merely used my holiday as it were meant to be.

Tuesday:

Tuesday was the day that I was allowed to watch the movie, Lord of the Rings , as Mum and Dad made a deal with me that was when you read the book you can watch the movie. So I watched part of it on Tuesday. The rest I finished on Wednesday and cried my little heart out because it was so beautiful and sad and I couldn't stand it. At the end of it all though, I felt like a wuss because I hardly ever cry in movies except Bridge to Terabithia, Star Wars 3, Robin Hood Series...So yeah...felt REALLY ridiculous ...

Wednesday:

Finished the movie and avidly started reading book 2, The Two Towers. Finished half of it by that night. That, I think, is very impressive.

Thursday:

Finished book 2 and watched the movie. So very, very good. Angela came over and she, Emily, and I teased our hair. That includes brushing all of our hair backwards and spraying it hard with hairspray. I slept in it that night and it was NOT, I repeat NOT, a pretty sight the next morning. I washed it and then it was rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat with the Conditioner.
I also went for a bike ride that evening. My bike's chain came off say...well...a fair way away from home. So I walked it home. Very annoying that. I'm sure I looked ridiculous.

Friday:

We went on a Op Shopping Spree which can be the coolest, yet weirdest, spree there is. After all, it is pretty fun to look at automatic cheese graters. Mum bought for me the third book of Lord of the Rings, the Return of the King , for me as well as a black skivvy which I plan to wear to Church today.
Even though I hadn't finished the third book I was absolutely DYING to watch the third movie. So I pleaded, no begged, my mother to let me watch it saying that I would finish the book before I left for Bourke on Tuesday and if I didn't I gave her license and complete permission to ban me from the computer for the rest of my life.
Unable to resist the chance of banning me off the computer for the rest of my life, no complaints included, she agreed.
It was very good. I cried again, especially when Frodo's finger was bitten off.

Saturday:

Finished the book, much to my mother's disappointment, and watched Hannah Montana on TV. Saturday is cleaning day so I rushed through my jobs and claimed, like an Olympian claiming a gold cup, my prize. A chocolate drumstick.

So, that was the first week of holidays. I absolutely love Lord of the Rings, and, between you and me, Frodo has the most awesome eyes. I really, really like them.

I have been asking Mum for two little goldfish but until I get them, those little cute fiction fish on the sidebar will do. Feel Free to Feed. Also I've changed the name of my blog, for no particular reason other than I felt like it. But the web address is still the same.

Next week, Bourke.

Easter Camp, 2010

So, here are some photos from Easter Camp 2010.

This was before the camp's 'mud fight' on Saturday afternoon.
Note please how white my board shorts were and how very clean we look. My friend Cherry and I were walking up to where we ate, went to the bathroom, and played sports.

People were still relatively clean at this point.

Me and Hannah.

And so it began.

Mud football.

Tug O' War in the mud. We had two of these. We won once, and lost once.

Cleaning out our ears and eyes of mud.

More Tug O' War.

Group shot.

Another group shot. Can you pick me out?

Who could this disgusting-looking creature be?

Washing off in the freezing cold river. It worked surprisingly well.

So yeah, it was pretty good. I really liked the mud fights, the singing, the talks, the games, the food, ect.
Last night after I finished writing the previous blog entry, I went into the shower and picked out numerous pieces of grass and hay out of my hair, removed mud and dust from everywhere, and tried to pick splinters out of my feet.
This morning I unpacked my bag.
It really...really did not smell very good.
I guess you don't notice it so much when everyone smells that way.
I don't have anything much planned for this week of the Easter Holidays. Next week Emily and I are going to Bourke again. And then...it's back to the daily grind...not coffee.

Back!

I just got back from Easter Camp 2010.

I am disgusting, grubby, dirty, tired, zonked out, and I don't smell too hot either. I am going to have along, hot shower.

I'll post photos soon.
